Winslow Colwell

I first became interested in kites in 1981 while selling silk and bamboo Chinese kites from a pushcart in Boston’s Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Since then, I’ve made and sold thousands of flyable kites at my studio in Vermont, at craft fairs, and throughout the country. Now I create kite-inspired art pieces that fly only in your imagination, guaranteed never to get caught in a tree or lost to a broken string!

New for 2021: Beautiful, folded geodesic lanterns using the same photographic images as my larger kite pieces. The soft light of these lanterns is perfect for those situations where a soft atmospheric lamp is all that’s needed.
