Mary Fran has studied the art of watercolor/watermedia with well-known & gifted artists: Peter Huntoon, Cheng-Khee Chee, Tom Lynch, Frank Webb, Tony Couch, Skip Lawrence, Arnie Westerman, Robert O’Brien, Linda Kemp, Fred Lower, Robert Burridge, Jeanne Carbonnetti, Mary Ann Braukman & oil painting with Robert Frick.

Mary Fran is a signature member of the Vermont Watercolor Society. She is also a member of the Brandon Artist Guild, The Chaffee Art Center, The Killington Artist Guild, The Society of Vermont Craftsmen, & The Vermont Craft Council.

Mary Fran’s love of teaching has inspired her to share her passion for painting with students of all ages. She taught watercolor/watermedia classes at Rutland Town Community Centers, Rutland Regional Medical Center’s Women-To –Women’s Cancer Survivors, at the Killington Grand for the Killington Jazz Festival, and at the Chaffee Art Center in Rutland, VT.

Mary Fran has been a Show Coordinator at the Chaffee Art Center for the Vermont Watercolor Society, a member of the Chaffee Art Committee, the Vermont Watercolor Exhibition Committee, and The Rutland Area Art Alliance

Mary Fran is presently owner & manager of Art & Antiques on Center, LLC, in downtown Rutland VT. where she exhibits her work along with the artwork of 60 Vermont artists. She also sells country antiques & collectibles. Hours at the gallery are Mon-Sat from 10AM-5PM, plus 5PM-8PM on ArtHop Fridays (2nd Friday of the month) and 5PM – 8PM on Friday Night Lives (every Friday night from mid-June to mid August).

Mary Fran has been involved in many area artist promotional ventures for auction: a birdhouse for “Brandon Is For The Birds”’, a rocking chair for “Brandon Rocks”, palettes for Brandon & “Palettes of Vermont” for the Varmont Arts Council, a dog for “Brandon’s Reigning Cats & Dogs”, boxes for Brandon’s “Think Out Of The Box”, an auction painting for “Starring Brandon”, Sunflowers & Clocks For Brandon as well as a train for “All Aboard Rutland”.
