A fine artist, well known for his paintings of local landscapes and architecture, Mike Mayone is recognized for the impressive realism and surprising detail he achieves in much of his artwork. Many of Mike’s scenes are inspired by the magnificence of the region that surrounds him…and he relishes capturing, preserving and sharing the rural beauty of Vermont.
A self-taught artist, Mike is very capable in acrylics, oils, watercolor, pen & ink and graphite and works in an unusual diversity of painting styles as well. However, a large showing of Mike’s original artwork is rare because his time-consuming style limits the number of originals he can produce – and the fine art he often creates on commission almost never sees public exhibit.
Mike offers original paintings and drawings, limited and open edition prints (lithographs and archival giclées), and note cards, all produced from his original work. Selected retailers, shows and galleries–such as here at the Brandon Artists Guild–showcase Mike’s art and provide the opportunity for collectors, or anyone, to own and admire a piece for themselves or to give as a gift. Mike welcomes visits to his art studio (where you may make purchases, if interested) and his website (www.mikemayone.com). Artwork created by Mike Mayone is found in the collections of many delighted portraiture and fine art customers coast to coast and internationally.
Mike lives in East Middlebury with his wife, Denise and their son, Max, where Mike also serves his community as a volunteer firefighter ( as he has since 1980 ). He has worked with the Middlebury Fire Department for well over half his years in the fire service, and was named Addison County’s “Firefighter of the Year” in January of 2007.
