Movement intrigues me; whether it’s a maple seedling spiraling to the ground or a marionette raising it’s arm with the tug of a string. I try to infuse my sculptures with this love of movement using a joyful color palette and dangling elements of wood, rice paper, reed, and wire.
Each mobile is a discovery, to see how air, light and gravity will animate it. Mimicking nature’s gestures, they are like three dimensional drawings that dance in the wind, accenting line, pattern and shadows.
My work is collected internationally, and includes large scale corporate and public art.
