2019 Exhibit Series Celebrates 20 Years of the Guild

2019 marks the twentieth anniversary of the Brandon Artists Guild. Over the coming year we’ll be celebrating with a series of themed exhibits honoring our planet and showcasing work from all of our artists.

The series approach is a departure for the Guild. “Rather than having our traditional single-artist exhibits, we’re inviting our exhibiting members to contribute to four group shows, each based on a single theme,” says organizer-artist Judith Reilly, “and what better subject than planet Earth, where we draw our inspiration from?”

The series will run from March through October, with each show lasting two months:

Art of the EarthMarch 1– April 30

Art of Wood: May 3 – June 25

Art of Water: June 28 – August 27

Art of Fire: August 30 – November 5

Coincidentally, 2019 is the Chinese Year of the Pig, which also recognizes nature’s elements of Earth, Wood, Water and Fire, and ties into Guild history. In 2003 our first art fundraiser, The Really Really Pig Show, caught the public’s attention and put the young Brandon Artists Guild on the road to success. It was the auction of  20+ life-sized artist designed pig sculptures that enabled us to purchase the Guild gallery building in downtown Brandon.  “We owe a lot to the pigs,” says Reilly.

Drop by the Guild gallery in downtown Brandon throughout 2019 to take in the full range of our artists creativity as we cycle through nature’s elements.
