Exhibiting Member Basics
Exhibiting Member artists show their work at the Guild gallery in downtown Brandon year round, participate in group and solo shows and become members of a vibrant creative community. The Guild welcomes all flavors and styles of fine art and crafts. Jurying criteria include originality, impact, clarity, craftsmanship, consistency of style and quality, presentation, and marketability. The jury consists of Guild artists and non-artists with expertise and experience across all media.
As a member-run organization, we ask new members to help staff the Guild gallery. It’s a great opportunity to meet other artists, make creative connections and learn what makes a cooperative arts organization tick. In exchange, the standard 50% gallery commission will be reduced to just 20% or 30% depending on work commitment (24 or 18 days per year).
- Applicant must be a Vermont resident at least six months per year.
- All submissions must be original work. A small number of reproductions or limited editions may be included for consideration. Work should be recent — completed within the last 2 years.
- Manufactured items, items assembled from commercial kits, made from commercially available plans or cast from pre-manufactured molds are not eligible. The Guild reserves the right to make a final determination of commercial status.
- There is no application fee. Accepted Guild artist-members pay an annual $150 membership fee which will be pro-rated for the first year depending on acceptance month.
