Three new artists join the Guild.

We’re thrilled to announce that three new artists have joined the Guild! Come see their work at the Guild Gallery beginning November 10, 2022.

Jennie Johannesen brings a years-long practice of careful observation to her detailed pastel paintings of birds and wildlife. She has found that the richness of pastels is the perfect medium to depict the subtle color shifts that occur across feathers and fur. Jennie’s sensitive depictions of the natural world are a wonderful new addition to our group of wildlife artists.

Beth Murphy works with pressed botanicals to present a new way to experience nature and introduce viewers to the richness of botanical materials as an art form.  She combines the amazing colors, shapes and textures of flower petals, stems, leaves, grasses, and even some vegetables into mixed-media collages accenting the organic beauty of her materials. With her innovative designs Beth breathes new life into a traditional folk art technique.

Potter Barbara Nelson began working in clay after leaving a business career and moving to Ripton, Vermont. Her life-long love of collecting turned into a hands-on artistic practice after just a few pottery classes at the Middlebury Studio School. Soon after she set up my own studio began exploring the wonderful world of clay in earnest. Her beautifully functional pieces are perfect for everyday use.
