Winslow Colwell

I first became interested in kites in 1981 while selling silk and bamboo Chinese kites from a pushcart in Boston’s Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Since then, I’ve made and sold thousands of flyable kites at my studio in Vermont, at craft fairs, and throughout the country. Now I create kite-inspired art pieces that fly only in your imagination, guaranteed never to get caught in a tree or lost to a broken string!

New in the gallery: Beautiful folded geodesic lanterns using the same photographic images as my larger kite pieces. The soft light of these lanterns is perfect for those situations where atmospheric illumination is all that’s needed.
