Painting is meditative and peaceful, and it offers me time to closely explore the beauty in the living world.  As an avid nature lover, I often draw inspiration from my bucolic surroundings rich with plants, bugs, and animals. I am fascinated with representing the effects of strong lights and darks with color. I really enjoy getting to know the subjects of my paintings and often prefer painting with a closer, more intimate perspective. A painting has the power to change the way we perceive what is around us. My goal is to offer the viewer an opportunity for a moment of deeper connection and appreciation for nature and animals.                       

Lynn Austin was born into a talented family of artists and was encouraged to create from her earliest days. Painting has been her primary creative focus since 2005.
