Lisa Steckler was born in Manhattan in 1967. She began making art as a youth where she was happy doing anything as long as it was painting. In college she switched directions and pursued a career in psychology and developed a photography hobby in the footsteps of her father. At 50 when everything in Lisa’s life turned upside down and inside out she rediscovered her love of art and jumped back in with both feet. It was as if the series of chaotic changes allowed her inner artist room to breathe again. 

Lisa meandered through every medium she could reach and then when she found glass she realized that it was all leading up to this. Although she still loves exploring in everything from watercolors to clay, she discovered glass art to be the most amazing medium to incorporate wisdom from all the others.  Beginning her glass journey in stained glass evolved into a love for fused glass and mosaics. As an emerging glass artist Lisa continues to be in awe of the depth and breadth of glass art in the world. She is delighted and humbled to join the Brandon Artist Guild and sit amidst amazing artists and their beautiful work.
